RISC Students Visit Zurich Insurance Canada for Industry Office Tour
The Risk and Insurance Studies Centre (RISC) was pleased to collaborate with Zurich Insurance Canada to host another successful office visit and networking opportunity for students as part of our Risk Rendezvous: RISChampion-in-Action initiative.
Through this collaboration, RISC brings together students interested in exploring careers in risk management and insurance. Zurich opens its office to provide a firsthand look into the professional environment of a global insurer.
During the visit, students toured the Zurich office and learned about different career pathways across the insurance industry. They also engaged directly with professionals who shared insights about their roles, their career journeys, and the evolving risk landscape.
These conversations helped students understand how concepts learned in the classroom translate into real-world industry applications. Students asked thoughtful questions and gained valuable perspectives.
Participants came from several universities. These included the University of Toronto, York University, University of Guelph, and Wilfrid Laurier University.
The diverse group created an engaging environment for discussion, networking, and knowledge exchange among students and industry professionals.
Initiatives like these are an important part of RISC’s mission to bridge academia and industry, helping students gain early exposure to the insurance sector while building meaningful connections with professionals in the field.
