HAIVE 11: Paid part-time 16-week real-world industry-linked internship

Applications are open for the 2026 Winter-term Hybrid Academia-Industry Internships via Virtual Engagement (HAIVE) 11 program. Students from the University of Toronto and York University are eligible to apply.

HAIVE is a unique work-integrated learning program offered by RISC and its Partnering Universities. We have so far completed 10 successful iterations of HAIVE, helping over 200 talented students from diverse universities and disciplines find their career path.

Our many industry partners include: Sun Life, Wawanesa Insurance, CIBC, Deloitte, Trend Micro Canada, RBC Insurance, and Co-operators, among a long list of several leading players in, but not limited to financial services.

We are now accepting applications for participation in HAIVE 11, a unique paid work-integrated learning opportunity to gain professional skills in risk management and insurance while working towards a university degree.

Starting on February 2, 2026, selected interns will have the opportunity to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary projects under the direct guidance of RMI industry experts and academics.

Reporting and other forms of communication under HAIVE will be facilitated in a corporate space built in virtual reality, with in-person meetings at York University.
